I thought the dead know nothing at all?

1 Samuel 28 - Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah,....Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the Lord is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?

...the Lord hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:

18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the Lord, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the Lord done this thing unto thee this day.

19 Moreover the Lord will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and tomorrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the Lord also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.

I thought the dead know nothing at all like JW's is true regarding the soul, body and spirit. Oooops.

I thought Satan ruled all the kings of the earth. Whew, somebody needs to tell JW’s that there was a change in administration after Jesus took back what Satan stole.

John 10: 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.

Jesus resurrected himself from the dead.

John 2: 19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

So, did Jehovah raise Jesus from the dead, or was it the Holy Spirit, or was it Jesus? The answer is YES!

@LV101 - Yes it is a master Greek Text of the NT. It was the only one in use for centuries until the spiritists Wescott and Hort created another one based on Vaticanus and Sinaiticus.

One would need a Bible library and endless hrs.

Not really, just use a well respected translation. But if you want to drill down a litttle deeper use a TR based bible like one of these:

1. King James Version - KJV

2. King James Version ER (Easy Reader) - KJV - ER

3. New King James Version - NKJV

4. Modern English Version - MEV

5. Green's Literal Translation - GLT

6. Third Millennium Bible - TMB

7. New Cambridge Paragraph Bible - 2005 edition of the KJV (paragraph format with modernized spelling)

I do not understand the universal issue anymore

to explain the universal issue we are often referring to a teacher and his/her students.. let us imagine that a teacher (god) has an hour (everlasting) class to show his students (humans and angels) how to fix a broken clock (to reign).. one student (adam) says he is able to fix it better independently, without the teacher's help (universal issue).. the teacher let him demonstrate that in front of all the others, but instead of an hour lesson he gives him only 5 minutes (death after a limited period of time) and he blocks one of the student's hands behind his back (imperfection).. if i were one of the other students watching i could think: but those were not the initial conditions the student was in when he said he could, and what would have happened leaving him more time and both hands free?.

am i crazy?.

It is posessing a nature that repudiates dishonesty, hypocrisy, lust, greed, fear, unfaithfulness and embodies love for others, duty, responsibility and most of all supreme love for God as the Master of everything - without trying to manufacture it.

You can't put new wine into old wineskins. You must be born again.

Biden running in 2024 🤣

i've filed this under news and world events, although i could've posted it under entertainment, lol.

apparently, joe biden will be seeking re-election for another term in the white house.. this, despite a recent poll showing that 70% of people don't want him to run again.. biden just has to be the worst president i've seen.

his gaffes, over-relience on a prompter, and, more than any other president, his refusal to answer journalists' questions, all go to make him top of the list in terms of bad presidents.. it will certainly provide entertainment, if nothing else..

For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. Romans 4: 3-4

Offending God & racking up more sin debt by working for your salvation definitely does not fit WT theology.

In addition to Westcott and Hort dabbling in spiritism while they were doing their "bible corrections", Sinaiticus and Vaticanus and the few manucripts based on them are rejected by many scholars for many good reasons.

There have always been two streams of manuscripts. One group (about 90%) enjoy a 99% agreement between each other. The other group is characterized as descending from Alexandrian origin, which was a hotbed of heresy from early on. They only represent about 10% of extant manuscripts.

It is estimated that Sinaiticus and Vaticanus disagree with each other at least 7000 times. These disagreements are not minor but involve major omissions and doctrinal conflicts of scripture. Just in the gospels alone there are the following number of disagreements between these two:

Matthew 656
Mark 567
Luke 791
John 1022

Total Gospel Disagreements Between Vaticanus and Sinaiticus 3036 +

Hundreds of overwrites, scratch-outs and multiple writers over many centuries, makes these two manuscripts (and those based on them) unreliabel as well. So, it is not surprising that critical text adherents disagree with each other.

Majority Text Bibles Available Today Include:

1. King James Version - KJV

2. King James Version ER (Easy Reader) - KJV - ER

3. New King James Version - NKJV

4. Modern English Version - MEV

5. Green's Literal Translation - GLT

6. Third Millennium Bible - TMB

7. New Cambridge Paragraph Bible - 2005 edition of the KJV (paragraph format with modernized spelling)

8. 21st Century King James Bible

I have little hesitancy using critical text modern versions for reference purposes. I know where most of the problem deletions and interpolations are. But, when it comes to distilling sound doctrine, I recommend a textus receptus (TR) based bible.
